Program Description

This program is designed to educate physicians and extenders on the use of energy-based devices to treat female urogynecologic conditions including prolapse, urinary incontinence, atrophic vaginitis, dryness and other vaginal disorders as well as male erectile dysfunction. The agenda covers the variety of energy devices for male and female sexual rejuvenation, a review of published literature and studies in progress, the role of PRP, hormonal therapy as well as tips on successful patient education, staff training and marketing and billing.

Educational Objectives

After the program, participants should be better able to:

  • Describe the mechanism of action of RF, lasers and platelet-rich plasma treatments for minimally-invasive vaginal devices and list the clinical applications for their use for vaginal rejuvenation. Describe the risks and benefits of each.
  • Review and interpret the literature to assess the need for incorporating the use of minimally invasive vaginal laser devices, RF therapy and/or platelet-rich plasma treatments into their practices.
  • Describe the mechanism of action of high-intensity focused electromagnetic technology and its application in treating urinary incontinence.
  • Describe the mechanism of action of low-intensity extracorporeal shockwave therapy (Li-ESWT) for treating erectile dysfunction.
  • Outline key studies on Li-ESWT for ED and describe any safety considerations associated with Li-ESWT use.
  • Describe effective marketing strategies designed for more effective patient communication as it relates to discussing issues with male and female sexual and intimate health.

This CME-certified program is designed for Ob/Gyns, UroGyns, Urologists, Plastic Surgeons, Dermatologists, physicians focusing on Anti-Aging medicine and those who assist in their practices.
